Esmé Thompson’s Closing Reception

This event is a closing reception for Esmé Thompson’s show at the Bowery Gallery. There will be a talk by the artist and Jennifer Stock will do a reading from her most recent work. I’ll be performing a set of my music with Kamala Sankaram, Daisy Press, Daniel Lippel, Lauren Cauley, Joseph Brent, and Peter Wise. Our set will be conducted by the wonderful John Altieri. So excited to be part of this event!

Excited to be performing my Shadows of Corinth song cycle at The Cell. I’ll be joined by Kamala Sankaram (voice), Charlotte Mundy (voice), Andie Springer (violin), Joseph Brent (mandolin), James Moore (guitar), Joshua Lopes (guitar), Ches Smith (percussion), and Peter Wise (percussion). A week after this performance we will be heading into the recording studio. There will be a reception after the performance. Come out and help us celebrate our upcoming recording!

Shadows of Corinth Recording

We’re recording Shadows of Corinth at The College of Saint Rose in their William Randolph Hearst Center for Communications and Interactive Media! Everyone is making the trip to Albany, NY and we’ll be recording all weekend. The recording will include performances by Kamala Sankaram (voice), Charlotte Mundy (voice), Andie Tanning (violin), James Moore (guitar, baritone ukulele & banjo), Joshua Lopes (guitar & bass), Joseph Brent (mandolin), Ches Smith (drums), and Peter Wise (percussion).

An evening of my concert music as well as songs from my video song cycle Shadow of Corinth (with video by Anney Bonney and lyrics by Sara Wintz). Kathy Supové and Isabelle O’Connell will premiere my new 4-hand piano piece, The Dark Passenger. Kathy will also perform two solo piano compositions, Lucid and Our Mingling Arms. James Moore will perform Blowback, a solo electric guitar piece. The Shadow of Corinth song cycle will include performances by Kamala Sankaram, Pamela Stein, James Moore, Eric Clark and Owen Weaver.

This night of music and poetry celebrates the relaunch of The Pretty Panicks Press, an organization run by Sara Wintz which publishes beautifully compact compositions straight to your mailbox through the medium of the postcard. Dither will be playing two postcard pieces: Swell Piece by James Tenney and my piece called Roar and Spit. Dither will also be performing pieces by Lisa R. Coons, Josh Lopes, and a new piece by David T. Little.

The progressive chamber songs from ASH will be performed live (9pm) by Molly Thompson with Jody Redhage, Kamala Sankaram, Kathleen Supové, Patrick Kane McCarthy, Peter Hess, Nabate Isles, and Margaret Lancaster. Wil Smith and James Moore follow (9:45pm) with a set of laptop/electric guitar music. The night continues with DJ NEVET (10:30pm) spinning Brazilian Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop and Reggae. Finally, White Lime Records introduces the Modern Dance Awareness Society (11pm) who will keep the party moving into the early morning hours.
